Giniginámar is a small fishing village in the south of Fuerteventura, where tranquility reigns, ideal destination for visitors who wish to enjoy a holiday in harmony with nature and which could be defined as a charming coastal corner of the island with excellent weather throughout the year, hard to forget, among other things for its calm and crystal-clear waters.
The beach has an area of almost one kilometer, and brings together excellent conditions to practice swimming, fishing or diving, allowing to see their great submarine wealth with simple goggles.
Giniginámar Bay is characterized as a protected area of high biological interest. In its back beach are palm trees, tamarisks and an open thicket. In addition to its main beach, there are numerous creeks where local sailors go fishing.
Giniginámar’s visitors can also practice basketball and football in the sports court; next to it is also a playground where children can play safely.
The quiet life of Giniginámar transforms itself each 16th of July, date of its big festival (Parties in Honor of Our Lady of Carmen). During these days, the village streets and the boats of the sailors are decorated to welcome the Virgin with a solemn religious performance and a sea-land procession accompanied by typical groups of serenaders, which then will give way to the big festival with plenty of grills, flea markets and music.
Giniginámar's strategic location makes us enjoy some privacy while being relatively close to the major tourist resorts on the island and its vast beaches of golden sand like Jandía.
